Billy R. Hatcher Sr. age 86 of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Quality Health Care Center.
He is preceded in death by wife of 64 years, Marie Hatcher; father, John Wilson Hatcher; mother, Lois Lewis; son, Russell D. Hatcher; and sister, Ann Pipkin.
He is survived by son, Ray (Rachel) Hatcher; daughter, Phyllis (Harold) York; sister, Gail (Charles) Morris; grandchildren, Phillip Hatcher, John (Sarah) Hatcher, Jesse (Lauren) York, Billy York, and Randy (Corynn) York; great-grandchildren, Haley Marie Hatcher, and Chloe Marie York.
Mr. Hatcher was a carpenter and a member of Bakers Grove Baptist Church. He was known by many as “Honest Abe” and enjoyed portraying Abraham Lincoln at jamborees and in parades.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1 p.m. in the Baker’s Grove Baptist Church, 3562 Earhart Rd., Mt. Juliet, TN 37122 with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service. Bro. Ron Hardeman will officiate. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Graveside services will follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Baker’s Grove Baptist Church.
