Bernard ‘Bernie’ Funke, age 77, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by parents, Robert & Agnes Myrtle Bramer Funke; son, Timothy Dwayne Funke; brother, Paul Funke; sister, Helen Funke.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Funke; sons, Greg(Karyn) Funke & Chad(Melissa) Funke; step-daughter, April (Kyle) Lane; grandchildren, Jordan Funke, Caleb Funke & Kinley Lane; and numerous other family & friends.
Bernie was a Maintenance Technician for TRW for 46 years where his fellow employees referred to him as “Spiderman”. He was passionate about his community serving as lead director of the TXR ball fields. He was a member of the Ojibwe Tribe in Baraga, Michigan. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and sharing stories with his family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2023, 3-6 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Christian Life Chapel, 105 Holloway Drive, Lebanon, Tn. 37087. Honorary pallbearers, Gene Pittman, Larry Hunter, Dixie Mullins, James Sponaugle.
