Barbara Ann Wade – age 81 of Lebanon passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
She was preceded in death by parents, Rufus and Maxine Broyles; husband, John Lawson Wade; daughter, Glenda Wade; son-in-law, Jeff Payne and 5 siblings.
She is survived by daughters, Gloria Knight and Linda Payne; grandchildren, Jessica (Clay) Treece, Hunter Payne, and Dana Moon; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Known to her family as “Ma”, she was the kind of woman who never met a stranger. Though many who came into her life were not related by blood, they quickly became family through her love, kindness, and welcoming spirit. Raised in a sharecropping family, she understood the value of hard work, simple living, and caring for others. She was a common-sense person with a warm heart and a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room.
Her life was filled with joy, laughter, and deep love for her family. More than anything else, her children and grandchildren were her world, and she devoted her life to loving, guiding, and caring for them. The memories she created, the wisdom she shared, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Partlow Funeral Chapel from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. with graveside services to follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
