Mt. Juliet Police had a busy Memorial Day weekend, making several arrests during proactive traffic stops and investigations that led to the apprehension of wanted individuals and reckless drivers.

On Saturday, three Ford Mustangs were clocked at more than 120 mph on I-40. Officers, with help from the MJPD license plate reader system, quickly located and stopped all three drivers—men ages 18 and 21, all from Nashville. Each was charged with reckless driving.

Later that night, a driver stopped on I-40 for following too closely was found to have multiple outstanding warrants out of Wilson County. The 34-year-old Lebanon man was also in possession of meth and driving on a revoked license.

In another case, a traffic stop for speeding on Central Pike led to the arrest of a 35-year-old Nashville man and a 36-year-old woman, both wanted for assault. The two were reportedly delivering ice cream through DoorDash at the time—officers made sure the order was still delivered.

On Pleasant Grove Road, an officer’s attention to a littering violation led to the arrest of two people. A 32-year-old Greenbrier man had just shoplifted shoes from Academy Sports and was wanted in two counties. His 31-year-old female companion from Nashville also had multiple warrants and was in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Lastly, a traffic stop on I-40 for an improperly displayed license plate resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old Nashville man wanted for kidnapping and robbery, and a 25-year-old woman wanted for shoplifting. A handgun and marijuana were recovered.

Police say the arrests reflect their ongoing commitment to safety, quick response times, and the use of advanced technology to identify and stop those who pose a risk to the community.
