A serious crash involving multiple vehicles has brought traffic to a standstill along Interstate 840 in Wilson County, forcing road closures and major traffic diversions as emergency crews respond.
According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, I-840 eastbound is closed indefinitely near the 73.4 mile marker due to a multi-vehicle crash with serious injuries reported. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is on scene investigating.
As of a 2:05 p.m. update, crews with the Tennessee Department of Transportation arrived and shut down Central Pike at Interstate 840 to divert traffic away from the crash area.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as significant delays are expected to continue.
