September 4, 2024 – The driver of a BMW S35I involved in Tuesday’s 11 p.m. crash with a semi-truck on I-40 West near Fesslers Lane has died.
The preliminary investigation indicates the semi was traveling westbound when it slowed down with traffic.
The BMW sedan, driven by a 44-year-old Mt. Juliet man, crashed into the back of the semi going completely under the trailer. He died at the scene.
Efforts are underway to notify his family.
There were no signs of impairment on the part of either driver at the scene.
