May 14, 2025 – A 57-year-old Mt. Juliet man is in custody after allegedly fleeing the scene of a pedestrian-involved crash near the entrance of the Deerfield Apartments on Providence Parkway.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when a mother, her infant in a stroller, and another young child were crossing in a marked crosswalk. The vehicle struck the stroller and fled. According to police, the crosswalk’s pedestrian warning beacons were active and flashing at the time.

Thanks to a witness who provided detailed information about the vehicle, officers quickly located the suspect on Belinda Parkway.

The mother and infant were transported to a local hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries. No serious injuries were reported.

The suspect was arrested and is being booked into the Wilson County Jail.
