Sunshine helped improve conditions on many main roads in Mt. Juliet on Monday, though slick spots remain, especially with the potential for black ice. Secondary roads are passable but still have large sections of ice, and most neighborhood streets remain mostly covered.

City officials say traffic levels continue to be light, with no reports of impassable roads or a high number of crashes within city limits at this time. City and state plow and salt crews remain active across the area.

NES has restored power to the majority of affected locations in the city. A small number of properties may still be without power, though those outages are isolated. A warming shelter is open for anyone in need. Residents who need shelter or assistance are asked to contact the Communications Center at 615-754-2550.

Officials also encourage residents to check on neighbors, friends, and family, and to make sure pets are not left out in the cold. If you must travel, use extra caution and allow plenty of time.
