The Mt. Juliet Police Department has announced two leadership advancements, promoting Tracy Evans to the department’s first Director of the Advanced Response Communications Center and expanding Corporal-Detective McKenzie Reingardt’s role within the Office of the Chief.
Evans becomes the first person to serve as director of the Advanced Response Communications Center, which oversees police, fire and emergency medical dispatching for the city. She brings 18 years of service with the Mt. Juliet Police Department to the position, having started as a dispatcher before rising through the ranks as dispatch lead and dispatch supervisor. Before joining MJPD, Evans spent five years with the Metro Nashville Police Department and served four years in the U.S. Army.
Her promotion also marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman in department history to reach that level of command. The position is equivalent to the rank of lieutenant within the department’s command structure.
“Tracy has been a steady and trusted leader for the department’s communications team and an invaluable member of MJPD. Her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to both employees and the community represent the very best of public service,” Chief Tyler Chandler stated.
As part of the transition, Corporal-Detective McKenzie Reingardt has taken on an expanded leadership role within the Office of the Chief, where she will oversee public information efforts and coordinate special projects.
“McKenzie has a natural ability to connect with people, communicate clearly, and build trust. Her experience, judgment, and genuine commitment to our community make her an excellent fit for this role,” Chief Tyler Chandler said. “I am confident she will help us continue strengthening transparency, expanding meaningful outreach, and ensuring our community remains informed and connected to its police department.”
Reingardt has been with the department for six years and most recently served in the Investigations Division, handling major cases and working closely with victims and their families throughout the investigative process.
She is also a certified Master Public Information Officer through the University of Tennessee’s Law Enforcement Innovation Center.
