You may have seen crosses on Mt Juliet Road. Those crosses were made by local man Michael Bean, who created 13 crosses with the names of the 13 heroes who gave their lives saving Afghans and Americans on August 26, 2021.
Green Hill High School football players also helped Bean with creating 13 more crosses for the home game on Friday, along with an additional two more remembering Sergeant Jerry Mundy and Deputy John Music, writes the City of Mt Juliet via Facebook.
To honor Bean, the City of Mt. Juliet proclaimed September 13, 2021 as Michael Bean Day.
“Another one of those examples of what makes this city special,” Mayor James Maness said Monday night while recognizing Bean.
