A Committee was chosen to review the scholarships and make a decision on specific qualifications. Watertown High School student Morgan Brown and Lebanon High School student Bronar Goshern were selected to receive the $1,500 scholarships.
In honor of Mr. Tommy Crockett, his family was presented a special award. Another award was given to Two Rivers Ford to be displayed at their Mt. Juliet location.
The guest speaker was football player Bradley D. Hopkins. He played left tackle for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), all of them with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans organization. In football, Hopkins played on both offense and defense, playing on the defensive line as well as at tight end. In basketball, Hopkins played power forward.
Hopkins graduated from University of Illinois with a degree in Speech Communications. He was selected in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Houston Oilers. In his rookie season, Hopkins started eleven games at left tackle and was named first-Team All-Rookie.
He currently works as an analyst for SiruisXM’s ESPNU, B1G, ACC, SEC, Mad Dog Radio and NFL Radio.This event is held annually and is open to the public.
