Lebanon Police arrested a wanted felon Wednesday afternoon following a brief vehicle pursuit and foot chase on Hartmann Drive.

Officers with the department’s PowerShift Unit recognized 43-year-old Orlando Steverson driving in the area and attempted a traffic stop. Police say Steverson pulled into the Bay’s Bread parking lot, tried to flee in his vehicle, but was unable to find an exit.

After a short pursuit within the parking lot, Steverson got out of the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot by jumping a fence. Officers caught up with him following a foot pursuit and safely took him into custody.

Police said Steverson has a lengthy criminal history, including homicide, and was on parole for attempted aggravated burglary and stalking. Authorities noted his parole had previously been violated last year after he fled from Lebanon officers during another traffic stop.

In addition to a parole violation warrant, Steverson now faces charges of felony evading, misdemeanor evading, simple possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
