Police in Lebanon made an arrest over the weekend after responding to a reported bicycle theft in a residential neighborhood.
Officers were called to the Head Homes area after a resident reported two males stealing a bicycle from their backyard. A-shift officers nearby located individuals matching the caller’s description and began investigating the incident.
During the encounter, 20-year-old Javaris Stigall attempted to leave the scene. After repeated verbal commands to remain, officers detained him.
Police say Stigall was found in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen in Haralson County, Georgia.
Stigall was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and resisting arrest following a brief struggle during detention. Authorities said no one was injured.
