A weekend shooting incident at a Lebanon apartment complex ended with an arrest and no reported injuries.

The Lebanon Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the Greentree Pointe apartments, where officers arriving on scene heard an additional gunshot nearby.

While canvassing the area behind the building, officers located multiple spent shell casings on a back porch. They then made contact with 32-year-old Devonta Adkins at the rear of the apartment and detained him as the investigation continued.

With consent to search the residence’s common area, officers recovered a handgun and ammunition matching the shell casings. Police later determined the firearm had been reported stolen out of Metro Nashville in 2021.

According to investigators, Adkins admitted to firing the weapon into the air. Officers also discovered he had two active failure-to-appear warrants out of Metro Nashville.

He now faces additional charges including reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon while under the influence, and theft of a firearm.
