A 20-year-old Lebanon man wanted by Metro Nashville Police on felony evading arrest and reckless endangerment charges was taken into custody in Mt. Juliet just hours after warrants were issued.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the suspect fled from a Metro Nashville officer around 7 p.m. during an attempted traffic stop on Old Hickory Boulevard near Robinson Road.
After warrants were obtained, a be-on-the-lookout alert was distributed to surrounding law enforcement agencies, and the vehicle’s license plate information was entered into the department’s Guardian Shield license plate reader system.
At approximately 9:20 p.m., Mt. Juliet officers received an alert that the vehicle had entered the city from Interstate 40 onto Golden Bear Gateway.
Officers quickly responded and located the vehicle unoccupied in a parking lot off Volunteer Boulevard. Police established surveillance in the area and later observed the suspect return to the vehicle.
The man was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Metro Nashville Police.
Mt. Juliet Police said the arrest was made possible through coordinated law enforcement efforts, timely information sharing, and technology that helped officers quickly locate the wanted suspect.
