Lebanon Man Killed Thursday in Collision on I-40 Near Fesslers Lane


(July 8, 2022) The man killed Thursday after losing control of his 1996 Toyota Camry on I-40 West near Fesslers Lane is identified as Charles Stavely, 61, of Lebanon.

The preliminary investigation shows that Stavely was traveling east on I-40 at 5:45 p.m. when, for reasons unknown, he lost control of his vehicle. The Camry crossed over the grass berm and entered the westbound lanes of I-40 where it was struck by the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck, Oscar Hilario-Hernandez, 26. Stavely died at the scene. Hilario-Hernandez was not injured. Both men were wearing their seatbelts.

There was no evidence of impairment on the part of either driver.
