A section of I-40 Westbound near Mile Marker 239 is closed after a serious crash that resulted in at least one fatality.
Drivers in the area are being routed onto Sparta Pike with alternate paths that include Briskin Lane to South Cumberland Street before reentering I-40, or Maddox Simpson Parkway to South Hartmann Drive and then back to the interstate.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
Authorities are urging motorists to avoid the area and expect delays while the investigation continues. Lebanon Police expressed condolences for those affected by the crash.
