A new attraction is taking center stage at Lebanon’s Fourth of July Celebration this year as a former Army paratrooper and member of VFW Post 5015 is set to perform a patriotic exhibition jump just before the fireworks begin.
Carrying the American flag, the skydiver will descend over the Wilson County Fairgrounds and land on-site, adding a new element to the city’s Independence Day festivities as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary.
The celebration will take place July 4 at the Wilson County Fairgrounds, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and activities beginning at 6 p.m.
In addition to live music, food vendors, and a fireworks show, attendees can enjoy several free activities, including water inflatables, balloon animals, face painting, ax throwing, cornhole games, and giveaways. Visitors can also stop by the City of Lebanon tent for free promotional items.
This year’s event will be held in a new location within the fairgrounds due to recent construction near the traditional fireworks launch area. Activities will take place near the Peyton Road entrance behind Fiddlers Grove while maintaining the family-friendly atmosphere the event is known for.
Guests can enter the celebration through Gates 4 and 6.
