Excitement filled the air as the official groundbreaking ceremony for Central Pike Elementary School took place on Tuesday, December 3. Although groundwork began earlier this fall, the ceremony marked the start of construction.
Slated for completion in time for the 2026-2027 academic year, Central Pike Elementary will span approximately 127,000 square feet. The facility will feature 50 classrooms and specialized areas for CDC, art, music, and physical education. Designed with a classroom capacity of nearly 1,050 students, the school aims to accommodate Mt. Juliet’s growing population.
According to Wilson County School’s spokesperson, Bart Barker, the school will help alleviate crowding concerns primarily within Gladeville Elementary and Rutland Elementary.
Central Pike Elementary School will be located at 14045 Central Pike. Construction teams are expected to work diligently to meet the August 2026 opening goal.
Stay tuned for updates as construction progresses and more details about the facility’s features and programs are revealed.
