The Lebanon Fire Department responded early Tuesday morning to a serious crash involving a vehicle that struck a house in the 800 block of Meadowlane Drive. Crews were dispatched at 7:25 a.m. after reports of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

When Lebanon Police arrived, they found the driver already out of the vehicle and confirmed heavy damage to both the car and the home.

A downed power line prompted the immediate dispatch of Middle Tennessee Electric to cut electricity to the area, while Wilson County Emergency Management provided patient care. Inside the house, fire crews discovered a natural gas leak and quickly worked with the Lebanon City Gas Department to secure it.

Although the homeowner was inside at the time of the crash, she was uninjured and declined medical treatment. During the operation, firefighters noticed the impact had shifted the house off its foundation, creating a collapse hazard. LFD’s collapse trailer was brought in to shore up the home with wooden supports to stabilize the structure.

Once the area was secured, Lebanon Police locked up the residence and safeguarded the property. All fire units returned to service after addressing the immediate dangers.
