A bomb threat investigation in Lebanon ended safely Friday after authorities determined there was no explosive device in a mailbox.
According to the Lebanon Police Department, officers responded to Carver Lane after receiving information from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation about the possible presence of a bomb in a mailbox.
Police established a safety perimeter and evacuated nearby individuals as a precaution while the situation was investigated. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
Specialized resources from the Tennessee Highway Patrol Bomb Squad and the Federal Bureau of Investigation were also called in to help.
After examining the mailbox using specialized equipment, the THP Bomb Squad determined that no bomb was present.
Authorities said state and federal partners will handle any further investigation related to the report. Carver Lane was temporarily closed between Farmington Drive and Springfield Drive during the response, though officials said there was no threat to the public.
