Lebanon police are searching for an armed suspect following an attempted robbery Friday morning at a jewelry store on West Main Street.
Lebanon Police responded to Winfrey’s Jewelry around 9:45 a.m. following reports of an attempted armed robbery. Investigators said a Black male described as tall and slender entered the business wearing a black cap and a dark jacket over a light-colored plaid shirt. Police said the suspect brandished a handgun, assaulted an employee, and forced employees into a back room.
During the incident, investigators said the suspect encountered an armed employee and fled the business without completing the robbery.
Police say the suspect left the area in a nearby white four-door Infiniti sedan believed to have been used in the incident.
Authorities say the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees or encounters the individual is urged to call 911 immediately.
