On May 1, 2023, first responders responded to what started off as a grass fire that quickly spread to trees and a shed structure.

The grass fire grew due to high wind gusts. Wilson County Sheriff’s Office says wind gusts are in range of 25-30 mph throughout the day.

Residents are asked to exercise extreme caution with burning brush and starting fires as the wind is capable of spreading the fire very quickly.
